Robert Bent

February 23, 1816 - October 20, 1841

Bent, Robert, frontiersman (Feb. 23, 1816-Oct. 20, 1841). Born at St. Louis, he went west in 1832 with his brother, George, settling at Bent's Fort on the Arkansas River. he accompanied a wagon train along the river when, hunting buffalo near Pawnee Fork, he was killed and scalped by Comanches. He had no wife and left no children.
