Alexander Sinclair

c. 1790 - July 18, 1832

Sinclair, Alexander, mountain man (c. 1790-July 18, 1832). Born probably in Tennessee, he, George Nidever and others joined the so-called Bean-Sinclair trapping party in 1830 at Fort Smith, Arkansas, Alexander Sinclair becoming the leader by default. After two seasons trapping they reached Pierre's Hole for the annual rendezvous, Sinclair being kill by Blackfeet in the celebrated battle that occurred there.
